SCRIBE FOR THE DAY!

Today in class Mrs. Armstrong did research this morning about rats for "Phoebe Rats." She said it takes 3 weeks for a rat to have babies. There was an error with our mathematics. So in class we re-did the mathematical part.

After doing the diagram again. The answer wasn't 1297. It was 1555.

The Solution: 1+61+62+63+64
1+6+36+216+1296=1555

We did a worksheet "introduction to Power and Exponents." It was an introduction of what a Base and Exponent was. Writing Powers in Expanded Form. Writing Expanded Form into Exponential Form. Finally Writing Powers into Standard Form.

Here is a little tip:
-43 The base is 4 not -4 and the Exponent is 3 The reason that is because whatever is infront of the exponent 3 which is 4.
-1x4x4x4

(-4)3 The base is -4 and the Exponent is 3. The reason that is because whatever is in the brackets which is -4. Which will make it a -4.
-4x-4x-4

At the end we had at least 20 minutes left. We planned to do a math poster for Powers and Exponents. Which has to include definitions, Include a correct answer. Finally Clearly organized and must include colour and creativity.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE
ON THEIR POSTER PROJECT
