Simple Random Sampling Method

This is the sample that was given to us:

The student council wants to start an intramural sports program. The first step is to determine which sports the 1000 students in grades 9-12 would like to have in the program. Each of the five members of the council sets out to collect data.
Amanda enlists the help of the school secretaries. They used a computer to randomly generate a list of 100 students from the roster. Amanda then surveys these students about the sports they would like to have in the program.
---------------------------------------------------
So what they did was use the computer and randomly generate 100 students from the 1000 students in grades 9-12. All the 100 students that was picked were the ones who was surveyed about the sports they would like to have in the program.
----------------------------------------------------
In this sampling method, there are strengths and weaknesses.
The strengths are:
The entire population has an equal chance of being selected,
The sample size is good
The sampling method eliminates bias.
Why? Because for this sample, the students were randomly picked.
