postive, negative, and zero correlation.

Positive Correlation : This scatterplot shows a trend (relationship) that rises to the right. Both variables are diagramed. Example : If you increase your height you increase your wieght.

Negative Correlation : This scatterplot shows a trend that drops to the right. The independent variable is imcreasing and the dependent variable is decreasing. Example : Shots in basket vs. distance from basket

Zero Correlation : The dots in this scatterplot are scattered at random and do not resemble a line. Example : Height vs. Lenght of Hair

1.draw axes
2.label each axis
horizontal axis = independant variable
veritval axis = dependant varible
3.create an appropriate scale for each axis
*each square must go up the same amount each time
*to determine an appropriate scale, take the range of your data and divide it by the number of squares on your axis
4.plot the data from the data table
5. give your graph a title
