LISTEN UP

Hello guys. It's me Anne well here are the things that we did today...

Relationships
  • first thing we did was talk about relationships, how math have relationships between them.

e.g., 2x-3=y

the variables are connected because if you don't know what x is you wouldn't know what y is...

SOMETHING LIKE THAT =D

Three point: Approach definitions

  • Scatterplot- A graph with points on a coordinate grid that attempts to show a relationship between 2 variables.

e.g., scattered seeds on ground

  • Independent variable- The variable that is controlled(x).

e.g., distance in our bean bag activity

  • Dependent variable- The variable that changes depending on the independent variable(y).

e.g., the number of shot in (in our bean bag activity)

Creating your own Scatterplot

  • For this one there's suppose to be drawings but i don't know how to put that so i'll just type the steps. But if you really want to see how it looks like just ask me at school.

1. Draw Axes. * Fill the page.

2. Label each axis.

Horizontal axis= __ independent variable.

Vertical axis= dependent variable.

3. Create an appropriate Scale for each axis.

*Note: Each square must go up the same amount.

4. Plot the data from the data table.

5. Give your graph a Title.

Re-visiting bean bag activity

  • For this one we basically just talked about the activity we did on friday which was the bean bag toss...

Homework Assignment

  • Miss Nicholson told us to get a partner and then she handed out sheets with problems and applications written on it. It was about scatterplot. We had to work on it until the bell rung. She didn't tell us it was for homework but it's better if you work on it.

Well I think that's about it. I had fun posting on the blog! If you have any questions don't be shy to ask me.

Remember: YOU CAN'T RUN AWAY FROM MATH, IT'S JUST THAT FUN.!.
